Studying Geometry with models

International students from the Geometry subject in the first year of the Degree in Architecture have built several models, studying the best solution for a given set of requirements.

They were told to build the models with medical wood sticks (tongue depressors). It was allowed to raise no more than five units, and the bars height was limited to one stick. The minimum number of sticks used, as well as the minimum slope achieved, were factors that influenced the value of each proposal.

It’s been a very positive experience, by realizing ideas into physical models and sharing the results with their classmates.
