David Chipperfield’s work exhibition in Madrid

Last September 30th David Chipperfield’s exhibition was opened at the headquarters of the ICO Foundation of Madrid -Calle 3- Zorrilla. Under the name “Essentials. David Chipperfield Architects” he presents more than thirty of his project that aims to get visitors in an excellent visual tour.

The exhibition is divided on two floors. In the first, audiovisual documents to which it has been added renovations and expansion projects of the architect. The second, aimed at his models and previous studies.

Chipperfield, who has developed his profession not only in the areas of building and town planning but also in the design of furniture and interiors, is listed in the minimalist trend.

He studied architecture at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London and between 1978-1984 he worked with renowned architects as Douglas Stephen, Richard Rogers and Norman Foster. In 1984 he opened his own studio in London and now also has offices in Berlin, Milan and Shanghai.

He has won many prestigious awards as the “RIBA” -Royal Institute for British Arquitects-, the Heinrich Tessenow Gold Medal and the Mies van der Rohe.

In Spain he has designed important works among which are: the City of Justice of Barcelona, ​​the remodeling of Paseo del Oval in Teruel, Hall America’s Cup in Valencia, Palacio de Congresos of Vigo and currently the Centro de Exposiciones y Congresos of Aranjuez.
The exhibition will close on January 24, 2016.
