University CEU Cardenal Herrera accommodates a wide range of services for all of our students to choose from and in order to help any newcomers to this university. I will be writing this post highlighting those, which may be of most importance to you in order for you to make the most out of your early experiences at the University and ease in to life here at CEU UCH during this transitory period as effortlessly as possible.
The International Relations Office
First and foremost, it is imperative that you familiarize yourself with the International Relations Office as you will spend an ample amount of your time here when you initially arrive at the university. The International Relations Office during the first few months of school is where you can go in order to iron out any insecurities that you may have about issues such as how to get a residency card, how to find accommodation, where your classes are as well as general details about the city, the university and how to get around all of it. In addition to all of this they will be present throughout the year in order to aid you through any other issues that may come up, such as renewing your residency cards and providing you with information on how to maintain most all issues that may arise during your time here in Valencia.
The International Relations Office is located on the ground floor of the Luis Campos Górriz Building, which is located in Alfara del Patriarca.
The Library-CRAI
The library is where most of our students spend their time studying amidst a library that boasts an impressively extensive variety of academically pertinent books that all students are free to use. Within the library students are also granted access to computers, as well as private study rooms that can be reserved by students for personal academic use.
The library can be accessed by students through the use of student cards which will be arranged and provided for you by the university. The library is located immediately across from the Luis Campos Górriz Building open from Mondays to Fridays from 7:45 am to 9:15 pm and 24 hours during exam periods.

The School Bank
Students can also find a branch of the Spanish Bank “Banco Santander” on the ground floor of the Luis Campos Górriz Building, which provides all international students with a bank account as well as a debit card that will be mailed to all students after fully registering your university bank account. The bank is then open for all university students for rectifying any financial issues that may arise, while also being a place for students to make deposits and withdrawals.
There is also an ATM machine that remains functional throughout the day for student use, and remains functional after bank hours. The bank is open from Mondays to Saturdays from 9:30am to 2pm and then from 4pm to 6:30pm.
The Language Service
For an international student such as myself, coming to grips with an almost entirely Spanish speaking environment can become a hefty task, however the Language Service of the university is tasked with just that, providing students with a multitude of resources including classes, a newly-founded “Hub” (located on the first floor of the Luis Campos Górriz Building) and an assortment of other resources in order to help students integrate in to a Spanish atmosphere as efficiently and effectively as possible.
The Language Service provides equal resources in other languages such as French, German, Italian and Chinese classes, the latter being geared towards improving the interactions between the Taiwanese population of the university and others. In addition, the Language Service also provides students with an official test which allows students to obtain an official Spanish Diploma as a Foreign language (DELE) by the Instituto Cervantes. This accredits students with an official certificate of Spanish which is a requirement for all international third-year dental students during clinical practice. To further their resources, the university’s Language Service also provides students with full-time access to Rosetta Stone, a popular and critically acclaimed online program for learning languages.

The Dentistry building
The Dentistry building located across the courtyard from the Luis Campos Górriz Building is where you will spend most of your time while at the university, therefore I believe that informing you on the layout of the building would be of monumental importance.
On the ground floor of the building you will be able to find the security desk as well as patient waiting rooms and general clinics. On the first floor you will then be able to find classrooms as well as some specialty clinics and laboratories. The second floor has a very similar layout with the exception of the buildings computer rooms, that you are free to use throughout the day. The top floor is then reserved for the offices of the dental staff with whom you may arrange meetings.
