As every year the UCH-CEU university grants Erasmus scholarships to its students. With that, they don’t want students to just have a stay abroad, but also have a unique and dynamic experience.
We caught up with María Olmos, a Veterinary student who has been able to enjoy this scholarship, to ask her about her experiences. This is so that you can have a better idea of what Erasmus is like and to encourage you not to miss an opportunity like this.
María went to Rome to perform her internship at a Veterinary hospital. Without understanding the language or knowing the country in advance, she simply leaped into an adventure. María initially struggled to get a place to live in, but that was only until she found a flat near her work hospital. She had an incredible experience sharing an apartment with 12 people of diverse nationalities and professions, she found it culturally enriching. In spite of the obstacle of not knowing the language, it was not entirely difficult for her to adapt since her co-workers were very helpful communicating with her.
Her free time was dedicated to traveling and admiring the streets of Rome with her flatmates and friends, with whom she expressed that she shared many unforgettable moments.
“The Erasmus program has allowed me to know other forms of work, another culture and to live an experience that I consider very important for my future, both personally and professionally.” – María
Erasmus is synonymous with adventure, knowledge, breadth, personal growth and above all, an experience that should be in the CV of each one. After all, you will gain invaluable knowledge from these experiences both personally and professionally.
Don’t let them tell you about it, live it!
