We all know very well that life can be pretty difficult and stressful at times. Especially when living so far away from home and adjusting to a new setting and university. It can feel as if nothing is going right and it may even feel as if there’s no purpose to it anymore. Fortunately, there’s a small shift that we can all make on our own that will go a very long way and lead us to a much happier life.
That small shift is to simply choose to be positive rather than negative. That’s all you have to do. We can’t always control what happens to us but we can control how we choose to respond to it. One of my ultimate favorite quotes to live by says,
“The greatest discovery of my generation is that a human being can alter his life by altering his attitudes.” – William James
A negative mind will never give you a positive life. Remember that. Choosing to be positive means:
1. Becoming a better version of yourself: maintaining a positive outlook throughout life will allow you to feel better about yourself, have more energy and less stress. You’ll be at peace with life and feel genuinely happy.
2. Valuable relationships: a positive mind radiates positive energy and that positive energy attracts positive people and situations. Plus, a positive mind only sees the wonderful qualities in someone rather than their flaws.
3. Fulfilling your goal(s): positive thoughts means not allowing anything to get in the way of your goal(s). Small bumps on the road are just learning experiences in life. It happens to everyone, but not everyone chooses to learn from them. Don’t dwell on the past. Remember why you started and keep moving forward.
4. A healthier/better lifestyle: studies have actually proven that a positive mind allows us to live longer, fight depression, cope better with illness and hardships, as well as build a stronger immune system. And what is life without good health? Misery. So, let’s think positive!
I can promise you that positive thinking will lead you to a much more fulfilling and rewarding life. Positive thoughts lead to a better you & a better you leads to better grades! Do not give up during difficult times, grow stronger from them. You can and will succeed!
