Training at the University of Perugia for Latin American judges

Susana Sanz Caballero, Valentina Colcelli and Roberto Cippitani have participated as lecturers in the VIII Training Course (January 17-20, 2023)

The three members of our research team have attended the VIII Human Rights Refresher Course for Latin American judges at the University of Perugia, this being the 8th edition in which they have participated.

Professors Calogero Pizzolo and Andrea Mensa, in charge of the Jean Monnet Center of Excellence at the University of Buenos Aires, were in charge of the organization.

In the framework of this course, Susana Sanz, head researcher, has taught a 12-hour module on the protection of Human Rights and the Rule of Law in Europe, a topic closely related to our research projects “Crisis of the Rule of Law in the EU. Special reference to Poland, Hungary, Croatia, Estonia, Spain and Italy and to the incidence of the Covid-19 pandemic”.

Valentina Colcelli conducted a 3-hour seminar on artificial intelligence and Human Rights in Europe. And finally, Roberto Cippitani gave a 3-hour seminar on the protection of Human Rights in the face of the evolution of science and technology.

18 magistrates and members of the judiciary from Argentina, Peru and Mexico attended this course.
