Your first year at CEU-UCH will be an exciting time full of new friends and new learning experiences but, do you have questions about your degree, upcoming exams, deadlines or calendar information? We are here to help you! The SOUAD (Servicio de Orientación Universitaria y Atención a la Discapacidad) is your first stop for academic information when you arrive at CEU Cardenal Herrera University. A pioneer service designed to help students reach their educational and career goals.
Academic guidance and counseling is a developmental process in which students are normally provided with information on academic-related issues and support in their personal integration at the university. At CEU-UCH we want to help our international students realize their academic potential and assist them as they achieve their personal and academic goals at our university. That is why the SOUAD, depending directly on the Vice-Rectorate of Student Affairs, has designed a wide range of activities to help firs-year students overcome the cultural gap that represents coming to study in a different country, with a different language and a different mindset!
And how is the SOUAD going to help our international students?
Our team of psychologists and pedagogues will assist you in questions related to the choice of studies, the composition of the program, study techniques and practices (motivation, organization and performance), and guidance on career options. We also help students with the personal problems they may have, and problems related to adjustment to university life. We provide this kind of help specifically to students who grew up outside of Valencia and for the first time ever leave their families.
Our university is committed to being an equal opportunity institution; that is why we provide personalized support to physically-challenged students.
What can you expect from our Integration Team?
– Support you in your transition to the university
– Guide you in developing your academic goals
– Identify resources
– Study strategies
– Time management strategies
– Program & Faculty Information
– Discuss your academic performance
…and much more!
What’s next?
If you are a first-year student, one of the members of our Integration Team will go to your class and introduce to you the next activities planned in the framework of the university guidance service (Intercultural Shock and Pre-Accede). The attendance to these activities is optional (although highly recommended!) and of course, free of charge!
If you aren’t sure what kind of academic information you are looking for or you just need personal counseling, send us an e-mail at [email protected] for assistance.
