Imagen del Instituto de Wyss, Universidad de Harvard<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Este concepto revolucionario aleja a los animales del sufrimiento infligido con la finalidad de testar productos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Un estudio busca frenar la experimentaci\u00f3n en animales usando una tecnolog\u00eda llamada <strong>\u201corgan on a chip\u201d <\/strong>como alternativa a probar nuevos tratamientos en seres vivos que sufren las graves consecuencias que esto conlleva.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Estos <strong>chips <\/strong>buscan replicar, a una escala microsc\u00f3pica, las funciones realizadas por los \u00f3rganos animales, de esta manera <strong>no es necesaria su implicaci\u00f3n en la prueba de los f\u00e1rmacos en investigaci\u00f3n<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La tecnolog\u00eda consiste en un aparato que contiene diminutos canales revestidos con c\u00e9lulas vivas que simulan la estructura y funci\u00f3n del pulm\u00f3n, coraz\u00f3n, h\u00edgado, ri\u00f1\u00f3n, entre otros \u00f3rganos vitales. El dispositivo ofrece una representaci\u00f3n precisa de la fisiolog\u00eda y puede replicar los efectos que tendr\u00eda lo testado sobre el cuerpo del animal. De esta manera, <strong>consigue reducir la dependencia de las pruebas en seres vivos.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Al estar en un entorno controlado, permite a los investigadores estudiar enfermedades, probar medicamentos potenciales y comprender procesos biol\u00f3gicos sin necesidad de emplearlos para ello. Adem\u00e1s, permite comprender mejor c\u00f3mo los <strong>medicamentos<\/strong> interact\u00faan con los animales ayudando a ajustar las dosis y mejorar la efectividad de los tratamientos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El potencial de estos chips es enorme: podr\u00edan abrir la puerta a <strong>tratamientos<\/strong> m\u00e1s precisos y personalizados para animales, as\u00ed como facilitar la investigaci\u00f3n precl\u00ednica de nuevas terapias y dispositivos m\u00e9dicos, reduciendo la necesidad de pruebas en animales vivos. Se espera que esta tecnolog\u00eda conduzca a un avance significativo en la medicina veterinaria, brindando medicamentos m\u00e1s seguros, efectivos y adaptados a las necesidades individuales de cada paciente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El proyecto <strong>\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/medios.uchceu.es\/actualidad-ceu\/transpavet-premio-a-la-comunicacion-cientifica-de-animal-research-tomorrow\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TRANSPAVET<\/a>\u201d <\/strong>impulsado por la universidad CEU Cardenal Herrera de Valencia ha fomentado la profundizaci\u00f3n en el tema de la <strong>experimentaci\u00f3n animal<\/strong>.
