My name is <strong>Luce Prieu<\/strong>, I am a 5th-year <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uchceu.com\/en\/studies\/degree\/veterinary\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Veterinary<\/strong><\/a> student at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uchceu.com\/en?\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>University CEU Cardenal Herrera<\/strong><\/a> and I have spent two months in the Jarlard Veterinary Clinic in Albi, in the south of France thanks to the <strong>Erasmus+ Program<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-24959\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.uchceu.es\/veterinaria\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2020\/06\/Luce_Veterinary_1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"640\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.uchceu.es\/veterinaria\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2020\/06\/Luce_Veterinary_1.jpg 480w, https:\/\/blog.uchceu.es\/veterinaria\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2020\/06\/Luce_Veterinary_1-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/blog.uchceu.es\/veterinaria\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2020\/06\/Luce_Veterinary_1-315x420.jpg 315w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/>This clinic is mixed, it treats pets as well as <strong>cattle <\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>sheep<\/strong> and it also has an <strong>equine<\/strong> unit. Four veterinarians and three veterinary assistants work every day in the clinic, in addition to <strong>24-hour shifts<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The clinic has two facilities in the city to serve both the owners and their pets. In addition, it is a place of reference in equine treatment and it collaborates with the animal welfare. This has allowed me to gain valuable experience in emergency care and recovery of animals.<\/p>\n<p>Mornings are mainly devoted to <strong>surgeries<\/strong> and<strong> internal medicine<\/strong> consultations. Afternoons are devoted to visit herds and treatment of small animals. Thanks to this experience I have gained a lot of confidence. I have also gained autonomy in internal medicine consultations, which makes it possible for me to say that I have really made a lot of progress in my practical knowledge of production animals.<\/p>\n<p>It has been tremendously enriching to have the opportunity to care of different species in the same veterinary clinic. Every day was different and I could spend all day outdoors out with the sheep or stay in learning more about surgery and consultations. <strong>Quite an experience!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello everyone!
