This work was created with a clear purpose<\/strong>, as highlighted by the ECHR BLOG of Utrecht University professors Antoine Buyse and Kushtrim Istrefi<\/strong>: \u201cThe aim of this book is to assist academics, judges and practitioners who specialise in the Convention and who may need a reliable guide to specific notions they encounter in their work<\/strong>. It is also designed to serve newcomers to the ECtHR, such as students or public authorities, as a companion on their path toward acquiring general or specialised knowledge in this area.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The co-editors of the book \u201cThe Companion to the European Convention on Human Rights\u201d Kusthrim Istrefi, <\/strong>Associate Professor of International Law at Utrecht University; Kresimir Kamber,<\/strong> Adviser in the Private Office of the Secretary General and the Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe and Professor at the Faculty of Law and Criminology of Ghent University; and Zane Ratniece<\/strong>, also took part in the book launch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
