Puk Bos is an ERASMUS student from ACTA Amsterdam University who visited our University from March to May 2017 in order to participate in a research exchange with Dr. Salvatore Sauro.<\/h2>\n

Before she left, I had a chance to ask her a few questions about her visit. Here are her replies:<\/p>\n

    Where do you come from and what is your home university?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The Netherlands, ACTA (University of Amsterdam).<\/p>\n

    2. How long have you stayed in Spain?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    3 months<\/p>\n

    3. What do you study?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Dentistry<\/p>\n

    4. Why did you choose to come to study at our department?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Possibility to do a research in laboratory by the guidance of Dr. Sauro.<\/p>\n

    5. What are the things that you have liked most at our department?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Friendly staff,<\/strong> flexible work hours, good equipment<\/strong>, clean.<\/p>\n

    6. Are there some things (at the department, in our university) that haven\u2019t worked as well as you expected?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    We weren\u2019t informed about the many holidays this semester, so we had less time for our research than expected. Eventually we finished on time, so it wasn\u2019t a problem.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    7. Have you taken the courses offered in English or have you also participated courses that are taught in Spanish?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    I didn\u2019t take any courses.<\/p>\n

    8. Do you think there is enough teaching in English at our department?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    I don\u2019t know. I think so, given there are many international students.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    9. Did you get to know the Spanish students? How?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Only a few students (from Taiwan and France<\/strong>) in the laboratory.<\/p>\n

    10. Did you participate in any of the leisure activities offered through the University (Campus Life)? <\/strong><\/h3>\n

    No.<\/p>\n

    11. How does studying at our department differ from your studies at your home university?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    I don\u2019t know, since I was not following the program. I think the work in the laboratory is comparable to ACTA.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    12. What do you think about education in Spain in general?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    I think that it\u2019s a good system<\/strong>, very attractive<\/strong> to foreign students.<\/p>\n

    13. Is there anything in the Spanish Education system that you would like to bring back home?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    More education in English<\/strong>, to get familiar with the (subject) language and the possibility of exchange.<\/p>\n

    14. What do you think of Valencia<\/a> or Spain in general?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Great city!<\/strong> It has a lot to offer: culture, activities, architecture, beautiful surroundings, clean, bike-friendly, nice people<\/strong>. The only thing I had to get used to is that the general pace in Spain is a lot slower than what I\u2019m used to in Holland.<\/p>\n
