We are delighted to announce the we will be holding the first ever iWeek on Microcredentials at the CEU Cardenal Herrera University<\/a> in the spring.<\/p>\n\n

The iWeek<\/a> is an eligible event for those who would like to attend via the Erasmus+ programme. The event will, however, take place in a hybrid format, both in-person and online, to enable those who cannot attend in person to enjoy the benefits of this event.<\/p>\n\n

At the iWeek, we will explore the emerging world of microcredentials – one which is still largely unknown and for which there are various viewpoints on how it could and should develop in the future. That’s why the iWeek aims to faciliate discussion, debate and the exchange of knowledge and experiences on this fascinating theme.<\/p>\n\n

There will be plenary sessions exploring a range of issues in depth. There will also be roundtable discussions which will be open to all to participate in, enabling us to hear many different viewpoints and experiences of these issues.<\/p>\n\n

Microcredentials are the next great challenge for all those involved in higher education and lifelong learning. To enable attendees to take on this challenge with confidence, at the iWeek we will explore issues such as: the incipient regulation of microcredentials in Spain and at the European level; the skills certification model at the core of the microcredentialling system and its links with university degrees; the development of quality assurance systems; digital badging, the Open Badge standard and badge issuing platforms; the links with other technologies used in teaching, such as LMSs; and the opportunities which the data generated from microcredentials presents us with. <\/p>\n\n

We will be inviting key players in this field from across Europe to provide insights into these issues. And because we welcome participation from all those interested in microcredentials, we expect that academic and industry experts will contribute to and enrich this debate and help us to become better acquainted with the challenge ahead.<\/p>\n\n

There’s certainly a lot of ground to cover. Too much perhaps even for this event! That’s why we hope that this will just be the first edition of an annual iWeek event, at which we can stay up to date with the latest developments in a field which is only going to become more and more important in the future. <\/p>\n\n
