Estos f\u00e1rmacos no solo mejoran el control gluc\u00e9mico, sino que tambi\u00e9n ofrecen beneficios adicionales, como p\u00e9rdida de peso y protecci\u00f3n cardiovascular.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u00bfQu\u00e9 es el GLP-1?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>El <strong>GLP-1<\/strong> es una hormona producida en el intestino que cumple funciones clave en el metabolismo:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Estimula la secreci\u00f3n de insulina<\/strong> (solo cuando la glucosa est\u00e1 alta).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Suprime la liberaci\u00f3n de glucag\u00f3n<\/strong> (evita picos de az\u00facar).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Retrasa el vaciamiento g\u00e1strico<\/strong> (ayuda a sentir saciedad).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Reduce el apetito<\/strong> (efecto en el cerebro).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Sin embargo, en personas con <strong>DM2<\/strong>, el GLP-1 natural se degrada r\u00e1pidamente por la enzima <strong>DPP-4<\/strong>. En estudios, la semaglutida logr\u00f3 una reducci\u00f3n de hasta <strong>15% del peso corporal<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Protecci\u00f3n cardiovascular<\/strong>: Algunos (como liraglutida y semaglutida) han demostrado reducir el riesgo de <strong>infartos y eventos cardiovasculares<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Efectos renales<\/strong>: Podr\u00edan proteger contra el da\u00f1o renal en diab\u00e9ticos.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Efectos Secundarios y Consideraciones<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Los m\u00e1s comunes son <strong>n\u00e1useas, v\u00f3mitos y diarrea<\/strong> (generalmente transitorios). Tambi\u00e9n se ha reportado <strong>riesgo aumentado de pancreatitis<\/strong> (aunque es raro).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Importante<\/strong>: No se recomiendan en pacientes con <strong>antecedentes de c\u00e1ncer medular de tiroides<\/strong> (por posibles efectos en receptores tiroideos).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u00bfPor Qu\u00e9 Son Tan Populares?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Mayor comodidad<\/strong>: Algunos se administran <strong>una vez por semana<\/strong> (ej. dulaglutida, semaglutida inyectable).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Beneficios m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de la glucosa<\/strong>: P\u00e9rdida de peso y protecci\u00f3n cardiovascular los hacen \u00fanicos.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Aprobaci\u00f3n en obesidad<\/strong>: Saxenda\u00ae y Wegovy\u00ae han cambiado el enfoque farmacol\u00f3gico de esta enfermedad.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Conclusi\u00f3n<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Los an\u00e1logos de GLP-1 representan un <strong>avance terap\u00e9utico clave<\/strong> en el manejo de la <strong>diabetes y la obesidad<\/strong>, con efectos que van m\u00e1s all\u00e1 del control gluc\u00e9mico.
