Movember 2014<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Esto no es una broma, aunque el t\u00edtulo de este post resulte, como poco, desconcertante. Hablamos de un tema muy serio, el c\u00e1ncer en los varones, en concreto nos referimos a una campa\u00f1a de sensibilizaci\u00f3n a nivel mundial<\/a> sobre el c\u00e1ncer de pr\u00f3stata y el c\u00e1ncer de test\u00edculo.<\/p>\n

El c\u00e1ncer de pr\u00f3stata es el segundo tumor maligno m\u00e1s frecuente en el var\u00f3n<\/strong>. Aparece en los hombres a partir de los 50 a\u00f1os. Es un tumor de crecimiento lento, que se puede diagnosticar en fases iniciales mediante la determinaci\u00f3n del PSA en sangre, con un an\u00e1lisis. Es conveniente, que los hombres acudan al ur\u00f3logo para que sean examinados mediante el tacto rectal.<\/p>\n

El c\u00e1ncer de test\u00edculo se presenta en hombres j\u00f3venes y se caracteriza por la aparici\u00f3n de una masa o hinchaz\u00f3n en el test\u00edculo<\/strong>. Hay ciertas afecciones no cancerosas, tales como las lesiones o inflamaci\u00f3n testicular, que pueden causar s\u00edntomas similares a los del c\u00e1ncer testicular. La inflamaci\u00f3n de los test\u00edculos, conocida como orquitis<\/i>, y la inflamaci\u00f3n del epid\u00eddimo (epididimitis) puede causar una hinchaz\u00f3n y dolor de test\u00edculo. Ambos pueden tambi\u00e9n ser causados por infecciones bacterianas o virales, que son m\u00e1s frecuentes y nada tienen que ver con el c\u00e1ncer.<\/p>\n

Ahora que las mujeres estamos sensibilizadas con la prevenci\u00f3n y el diagn\u00f3stico precoz del c\u00e1ncer<\/a>, parece oportuno concienciar a los hombres de la importancia del mismo.<\/p>\n
