Sunshine, beach, cultural richness – the lively city of Valencia seems to be the perfect destination for completing an internship abroad. Klaudia Rakoczy from Poland is one of the international interns working in the International Office at University CEU Cardenal Herrera. After three month full of interesting experiences it is now time to say ‘hasta pronto’ – but not without telling us her impressions about the internship at University CEU Cardenal Herrera.
Hola Klaudia. Your suitcases are packed – are you looking forward to returning home or are you sad about leaving Valencia today?
Klaudia: Well, I cannot hide my tears so you can probably guess that I am really sad about having to leave Valencia today. I got here in February, so I spend quite a while here in this beautiful city, I got to know a lot of lovely people and now the weather is better than ever – which makes it really hard for me to say goodbye now.
What was your internship position here at the University CEU Cardenal Herrera?
Klaudia: As I have a degree in International Business, I have worked in the university’s International Office, where I could fulfill interesting tasks such as translating texts into different languages, carrying out projects for the departments of Communication or Public Relations – I really liked working here as there was no day like any other. I could learn a lot as the university does much in terms of international relations.
What do you consider the best aspect about your internship experience at University CEU Cardenal Herrera?
Klaudia: The best aspect about my internship here definitely was the unbelievably good atmosphere – my colleagues have always been so friendly and welcoming, right from the beginning. I have the impression that the atmosphere around the campus in general is very positive – the students seem to enjoy their studies and all the people I have met here were really nice and open. There is always someone to answer your questions and help you if you have any doubt or problem.
Sounds as if you have enjoyed your internship a lot. Were there also any negative aspects you have experienced?
Klaudia: To be honest, I can really not think of any negative experience here at the University CEU Cardenal Herrera. People have always treated me so well, the tasks I have done were very interesting and also the nice group of international interns have become really good friends. Valencia is such a wonderful city and a place I associated with sunshine and high temperatures so I was a little surprised about how cold it can be when I got here in February – but now the weather is getting better and better, so there is really nothing to complain about.
A good reason to stay here – why are you still leaving Valencia?
Klaudia: You know, I totally fell in love with this city, with this country in general – sunshine, beach, good food, the culture, language and lovely people. That is the reason why I will stay in this beautiful country and not return home to Poland. However, I will discover the southern part of the country, Andalusia. I will try to find a job in Spain so that I can stay here – because I really feel home in this wonderful country of passion, culture and beautiful nature.
Thank you very much for making this time here in Valencia unforgettable!
