Energy Lab and CEU-UCH are working together to offer a European course to obtain an international certificate for professionally verifying energy efficiency

Through the training sessions, the participants prepare for the exam on the International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP), the international standard for the field which is developed by the Efficiency Valuation Organisation (EVO)

The International Performance Measurement & Verification Protocol (IPMVP), of EVO, is the international leader in protocol standards for measurement and verification (M&V) of energy efficiency. Due to the high demand for qualified professionals in the application of this protocol, CEU-UCH and the Technological Centre of Energy Efficiency and Sustainability (Energy Lab) have held a European course in Valencia, along with the official test to obtain the Certified Measurement & Verification Professional (CMVP).

The IPMVP has been translated into ten languages, including Spanish, and it is used in more than forty countries. It is regularly cited for federal and state use, and in other protocols of measurement and verification of energy savings. The title of CMVP can be used by people who have demonstrated outstanding knowledge in M&V and who have passed the four-hour written exam after the training sessions, which serve as preparation.

Twenty people from all over the country attended the exam in Valencia, which was organised by the Cardenal Herrera School of Technical Science and Energy Lab. With this initiative, CEU-UCH will continue its collaboration with Energy Lab, a referral centre for energy efficiency and sustainability in industry, construction and transport, based in Galicia. The CEU-UCH has collaborated in various energy projects with this centre, such as the construction of the prototype of the self-sufficient housing SMLsystem for Solar Decathlon Europe 2012, which was the work of students and researchers from Degrees in Design Engineering and Energy Engineering at CEU-UCH.
