{"id":953,"date":"2011-10-25T11:35:15","date_gmt":"2011-10-25T11:35:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.uchceu.es\/eponimos-cientificos\/?p=953"},"modified":"2022-02-15T09:55:06","modified_gmt":"2022-02-15T08:55:06","slug":"agua-polvo-dentifrico-de-botot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.uchceu.es\/eponimos-cientificos\/agua-polvo-dentifrico-de-botot\/","title":{"rendered":"AGUA, POLVO DENT\u00cdFRICO DE BOTOT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>FRAN\u00c7OIS MARIE BOTOT (S.XVIII)<\/strong><br \/>\nJos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda de Jaime Lor\u00e9n (2010)<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1292\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.uchceu.es\/eponimos-cientificos\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2011\/10\/foto105.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"236\" height=\"349\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.uchceu.es\/eponimos-cientificos\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2011\/10\/foto105.jpg 236w, https:\/\/blog.uchceu.es\/eponimos-cientificos\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2011\/10\/foto105-202x300.jpg 202w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 236px) 100vw, 236px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Datos biogr\u00e1ficos<\/strong><br \/>\nFran\u00e7ois Botot era m\u00e9dico del rey de Francia Luis XV para\u00a0quien prepar\u00f3 en 1755 su famoso enjuague para higiene\u00a0bucal conocido como Agua de Botot, que fue aprobado por\u00a0la Sociedad Real de Medicina de Par\u00eds en 1783, recibiendo\u00a0por tal motivo y poco antes del inicio de la Revoluci\u00f3n\u00a0Francesa el Privilegio General de Luis XVI.<\/p>\n<p>Esta primera Agua de Botot estaba hecho con clavo de\u00a0olor, canela y aceite de menta, era de gran valor para el\u00a0cuidado de la boca y se usaba friccionando directamente\u00a0sobre enc\u00edas y dientes, consiguiendo de esta forma frenar el\u00a0escorbuto.<\/p>\n<p>Hered\u00f3 la propiedad de la f\u00f3rmula Fran\u00e7ois Julien Botot\u00a0Edme, sobrino de Fran\u00e7ois, abogado y secretario de la\u00a0Revoluci\u00f3n. Aunque la explotaci\u00f3n de la f\u00f3rmula le permit\u00eda estar libre de preocupaciones financieras, sus ambiciones pol\u00edticas le llevaron a vender sus derechos sobre el\u00a0famoso elixir a su hermana Marie Sophie y a su esposo\u00a0Jean Charles Haudouard, abogado del Parlamento de Par\u00eds,\u00a0el 27 de noviembre de 1789.<\/p>\n<p>Ignoramos lo que fue del inventor de este preparado, s\u00f3l\u00a0que su sobrino Fran\u00e7ois Julien en 1790 entr\u00f3 en la lista de\u00a0abogados del Tribunal de Apelaci\u00f3n de Par\u00eds, y en agosto\u00a0de 1792 fue elegido uno de los siete directores de la Junta\u00a0del Tribunal Especial para juzgar los cr\u00edmenes de los sucesos del 10 de agosto anterior. Acusado de abusar de su\u00a0posici\u00f3n para promover la absoluci\u00f3n de Mr. Montmorin,\u00a0gobernador de Fontainebleau, fue detenido en septiembre\u00a0del mismo a\u00f1o y encarcelado en una abad\u00eda, de la que\u00a0escap\u00f3 antes de ser asesinado.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1293\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.uchceu.es\/eponimos-cientificos\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2011\/10\/foto106.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"313\" height=\"210\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.uchceu.es\/eponimos-cientificos\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2011\/10\/foto106.jpg 313w, https:\/\/blog.uchceu.es\/eponimos-cientificos\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2011\/10\/foto106-300x201.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 313px) 100vw, 313px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Agua de Botot<\/strong><br \/>\nHist\u00f3ricamente en Agua de Botot es el producto m\u00e1s antiguo de higiene oral vendido en Francia. Fue creado especialmente para Luis XV por su m\u00e9dico Fran\u00e7ois Marie\u00a0Botot, la patente del producto la hered\u00f3 su sobrino Fran\u00e7oise Julien Botot Edme que luego vendi\u00f3 a su hermana\u00a0Marie Sophie cuya firma aparece desde entonces en las\u00a0etiquetas de todos los productos hasta hoy, junto al lema\u00a0\u201cFides cui vacio\u201d. La propiedad hoy corresponde a Cavaill\u00e8s Rog\u00e9.<br \/>\nSe trata de un enjuague bucal del cual Alberto Labarl\u00e9trier\u00a0cita nada menos que cuatro f\u00f3rmulas diferentes que, a su\u00a0vez, toma de Piesse. Vamos con la primera f\u00f3rmula:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0An\u00eds verde, 30 gr.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Clavo, 8 gr.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Canela, 8 gr.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Aguardiente, 875 gr.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Esencia de menta, 1\/5 gr<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1294\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.uchceu.es\/eponimos-cientificos\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2011\/10\/fot108.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"293\" height=\"263\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Se deja en infusi\u00f3n durante ocho d\u00edas, se filtra, se a\u00f1aden 4\u00a0gramos de tintura de \u00e1mbar y se ti\u00f1e con la cochinilla.\u00a0Segunda formula:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0An\u00eds verde, 64 gr.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Canela de Ceil\u00e1n, 16 gr.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Clavo, 1 gr.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Cochinilla, 4 gr.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Se machaca todo, se pone en infusi\u00f3n en 2.000 gramos de\u00a0alcohol de 80\u00ba. Despu\u00e9s de pasados 15 d\u00edas se a\u00f1aden 4\u00a0gramos de esencia de mental y se filtra. Tercera:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Clavo, 50 gr.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Canela, 50 gr.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0An\u00eds estrellado, 50 gr.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Cochinilla, 25 gr.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Cr\u00e9mor t\u00e1rtaro, 25 gr.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Esencia de menta, 25 gr.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Alcohol a 80\u00ba, 8.000 gr.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Tras machacar bien todos ingredientes y moler la cochinilla con el cr\u00e9mor, se pone en infusi\u00f3n durante ocho d\u00edas. Y\u00a0cuarta:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0An\u00eds verde, 64 gr.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Canela, 16 gr.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Clavo, 50 gr.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Piretre o Camomilla, 4 gr.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Cr\u00e9mor t\u00e1rtaro, 5 gr.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Benju\u00ed, 2 gr.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Esencia de menta, 4 gr.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Alcohol de 80 \u00ba, 2.000 gr.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Se trituran los ingredientes y se pone en infusi\u00f3n durante\u00a0ocho d\u00edas despu\u00e9s de reducir a polvo el cr\u00e9mor t\u00e1rtaro, la\u00a0cochinilla y el benju\u00ed. Esta f\u00f3rmula se pone ligeramente blanca cuando se mete en el agua. Es la siguiente:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Tintura de clavo de olor, 1 gr.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Esencia de menta, 5 gr.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Esencia de canela, 1 gr.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Esencia de an\u00eds, 2 gr.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Tintura de mirra, 10 gr.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Agua de rosas, 30 gr.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Cr\u00e9mor t\u00e1rtaro, 1 gr.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Alcohol de 96\u00ba, 500 cc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Se diluyen las esencias y tinturas en el alcohol agitando\u00a0hasta que sea una mezcla homog\u00e9nea; agregar el agua de\u00a0rosas y repetir la operaci\u00f3n. Agregar el cr\u00e9mor t\u00e1rtaro y\u00a0dejar reposar esta mezcla durante dos semanas, agitando de\u00a0cuando en cuando.<\/p>\n<p>Se filtra cuidadosamente y se guarda en un envase apropiado. Para usar esta agua dent\u00edfrica, se disuelve media cucharadita en un vaso de agua tibia y se usa esta mezcla para\u00a0hacer buches y g\u00e1rgaras.
