XVIII)<\/strong><br \/>\nJos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda de Jaime Lor\u00e9n (2010)<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\n<strong>Datos biogr\u00e1ficos<\/strong><br \/>\nCirujano, sangrador y maestro de \u00e1lgebra, Vicente Calatayud solicit\u00f3 del rey en 1778 autorizaci\u00f3n para usar libremente un remedio secreto por \u00e9l inventado para la curaci\u00f3n\u00a0del mal g\u00e1lico, as\u00ed como para fiebres cuartanas y tercianas.<\/p>\n<p>Dicho producto lo hab\u00eda experimentado durante 29 a\u00f1os\u00a0con sus pacientes, y tambi\u00e9n durante sus a\u00f1os como cirujano titular del Departamento de Carabineros de la villa de\u00a0Daimiel. Respaldaba la petici\u00f3n con numerosos certificados de m\u00e9dicos y de otros testigos. Al efecto, el Protomedicato nombr\u00f3 una comisi\u00f3n de m\u00e9dicos para evaluar los\u00a0remedios con resultado negativo.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-1343\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.uchceu.es\/eponimos-cientificos\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2011\/10\/foto130.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"156\" height=\"224\" \/>P\u00edldoras antiven\u00e9reas de Vicente Calatayud\u00a0Estudiadas por el facultativo designado por el Protomedicato, estimaba que \u201clos componentes no ten\u00edan nada de\u00a0violentos, malos o nuevos, que pudiesen ser \u00fatiles ni provechosos si\u00a0eran manejados por un\u00a0profesor conocedor del\u00a0caso y sus circunstancias, pues sus componentes eran los usuales y\u00a0regularmente utilizados\u00a0por los facultativos. La\u00a0mezcla de los usados\u00a0para la Lue Galica pod\u00eda\u00a0ser arriesgada por s\u00ed y\u00a0por las dosis en que se\u00a0prescrib\u00eda\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Polvos antifebr\u00edfugos de Vicente Calatayud<\/strong><br \/>\nAlgo parecido suced\u00eda con estos polvos antifebr\u00edfugos que\u00a0resultaban, asimismo, \u201carriesgado y s\u00f3lo propios de m\u00e9dicos y muy pr\u00e1cticos; siendo ambos remedios de uso interno, necesitaban una exacta preparaci\u00f3n por los farmac\u00e9uticos, y no se deb\u00eda permitir que los trabajase nadie, y mucho\u00a0menos los usase una persona no autorizada por las Leyes\u201d.<br \/>\nSosten\u00eda el autor del informe que este tipo de productos\u00a0\u201cestaban hechos a base de sales lixiviosas, extractos amasicantes, bien cargados del fiador de las promesas, que es la\u00a0Kina \u2026<\/p>\n<p>Todas las pharmacopeas est\u00e1n llenas de estas\u00a0recetas y no por eso se deben tener por arcanos y espec\u00edficos singulares, inventados por esta casta de hombres, a\u00a0quienes faltan los s\u00f3lidos fundamentos para la racional\u00a0aplicaci\u00f3n de aquello con que brindan al incauto vulgo para\u00a0librar en su credulidad los intereses con que poder vivir o\u00a0enriquecerse\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1344\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.uchceu.es\/eponimos-cientificos\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2011\/10\/foto131.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"224\" height=\"300\" \/> En resumen, que ninguno de los espec\u00edficos propuestos por\u00a0Vicente Calatayud, \u201cno contienen nada nuevo y \u00e9l personalmente carece de ciencia suficiente para dispensar los\u00a0remedios que tiene por secretos\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong> Bibliograf\u00eda<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">VALVERDE, J.L.; P\u00c9REZ ROMERO, J.A.
