Director de la revista profesional \u201cBolet\u00edn Qu\u00edmico-Farmac\u00e9utico\u201d y de la revista del Comit\u00e9 Nacional de Plantas Medicinales del que fue secretario y tesorero, inici\u00f3 en Espa\u00f1a los estudios sobre cultivos de plantas medicinales, debi\u00e9ndose a su entusiasmo y tenacidad la organizaci\u00f3n de dicho Comit\u00e9, que funcionaba desde Madrid en relaci\u00f3n con otros 30 comit\u00e9s provinciales.<\/p>\n<p>Fue elegido varias veces para el cargo de vicesecretariocontador del Colegio de Farmac\u00e9uticos de Madrid, y se le deben numerosas conferencias as\u00ed como una notable colaboraci\u00f3n en la prensa profesional.<\/p>\n<p>Doctor en Farmacia, profesor del Laboratorio Municipal y del Dispensario Antituberculoso de Santander del que fue director, fue nombrado gentilhombre de Palacio por Alfonso XIII. Profesor de la Real Oficina de Farmacia, a principios del siglo XX que se hizo cargo de los Laboratorios Ulzurr\u00fan, que en 1925 puso bajo su nombre para, finalmente, recuperar tras la guerra civil espa\u00f1ola el antiguo de Ulzurr\u00fan, familia con la que emparent\u00f3. Miembro de la Real Academia de Farmacia con la medalla n\u00ba 10 desde 1921 hasta su muerte en 1970.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Laboratorios Vega <\/strong><br \/>\nTras un corto periodo de inactividad, los laboratorios Ulzurr\u00fan reanudar\u00e1n sus actividades en los primeros a\u00f1os del siglo XX bajo la direcci\u00f3n del entonces profesor de la Real Oficina de Farmacia Jos\u00e9 de la Vega y Portilla, conservando el nombre y la tradici\u00f3n de sus antecesores hasta 1925, en que pas\u00f3 a llamarse Laboratorios Vega. As\u00ed se mantuvo hasta el comienzo de la guerra civil, en que el director fue encarcelado por las fuerzas republicanas y destruido el laboratorio en los combates.<\/p>\n<p>Concluida la guerra, el laboratorio reapareci\u00f3 moment\u00e1neamente en la calle Alfonso XIII de Vigo con el nuevo nombre de Laboratorio Espa\u00f1ol Hepatrat, nombre de uno de sus preparados m\u00e1s conocidos.<\/p>\n<p>Por entonces aunaban sus esfuerzos Luis S. Ulzurr\u00fan y el farmac\u00e9utico Arturo de la Vega, ambos parientes.<\/p>\n<p>Mientras tanto en Madrid se levanta un nuevo edificio de cinco plantas en el mismo lugar donde se ubicaba el viejo laboratorio, ahora ya con el nombre de Laboratorios Ulzurr\u00fan y con arreglo a las nuevas normas de sanidad e higiene, bien dotado de laboratorios de farmacolog\u00eda y qu\u00edmica, as\u00ed como gabinetes provistos de modernos aparatos en los que personal especializado efectuaba las necesarias operaciones de an\u00e1lisis y valoraciones qu\u00edmicas y farmacol\u00f3gicas, unas veces con fines de comprobaci\u00f3n y otras de investigaci\u00f3n, adem\u00e1s de una bien surtida biblioteca.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2217\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.uchceu.es\/eponimos-cientificos\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2011\/10\/FOTO475.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"327\" height=\"368\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.uchceu.es\/eponimos-cientificos\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2011\/10\/FOTO475.jpg 327w, https:\/\/blog.uchceu.es\/eponimos-cientificos\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2011\/10\/FOTO475-266x300.jpg 266w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 327px) 100vw, 327px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Bibliograf\u00eda<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">AN\u00d3NIMO (1950): Historia de los Laboratorios Ulzurr\u00fan,\u00a0S.A.
