“Tirant de Lletra”: International Reading of Tirant with Falla Na Jordana
The Gothic cloister of the Cultural Center El Carmen received last Oct. 3 opening session of the fifteenth edition of “Tirant of lletra” Na Jordana Falla. As every year and over the next few days until the 9th October, day of Valencia, the Falla performs the collective reading of Tirant lo Blanch, followed by other cultural events throughout the week. However, for the first time this year, it has enjoyed readings from very special readers: International students UCH CEU, who read some texts in French, German, Finnish, Chinese and Greek.
The beautiful cloister was filled to maximum of attendees among which, besides the Rector Rosa Visiedo, we also had the Vice Chancellor for Student and University Life, Mª José González, and the mayor of Valencia, Joan Ribó, the soloist and Valencian composer Sole Giménez and Secretary General of the Consell Valencià de Cultura Jesus Huguet, among other personalities from politics and Valencian culture.
The end of the celebration was handled by Group Dolçainers “The Cudol” and the Choir of Patraix who performed the concert “1238: Chronicle of a dream” based on the legend of King James I.

This public event, held this year on an international basis, shows the universality of a work that has been translated into more than twelve languages, and is considered the masterpiece of literature of the Golden Valencian.
