Eva and Luna are very happy with the creative experience at CEU Photo<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Framing the world \u2013 that\u2019s what twenty or so students from different countries and degrees are doing at CEU Photo, which is just one of the channels for creative expression that CEU offers its students<\/a>.<\/p>\n

CEU Photo<\/a> provides \u201ca different perspective on contemporary photography and its aesthetics. We want to be a place where members can think deeply about want an image should be, and also where they can develop their own projects\u201d, in the words of Manolo Mill\u00e1n<\/strong>, the group coordinator. \u201cWe work together as a group, as equals, and our students\u2019 own proposals are what we talk about and what we work on.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018I JOINED CEU PHOTO TO MEET NEW PEOPLE, TALK ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHERS, CREATE JOINT PROJECTS\u2026 AND IT HAS MET MY EXPECTATIONS FROM THE VERY FIRST DAY\u2019<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This way in which CEU Photo is organized is part of the secret of its success.<\/p>\n

Eva Gonz\u00e1lez<\/strong>, a third-year Audiovisual Communication student joined CEU Photo because \u201cit seemed like a good way to get away from the stress you get from lectures sometimes. Another reason is that I knew the lecturer and also photography plays a big role in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Eva has been a professional photographer for four years<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

\u201cI joined to meet new people, talk about photographers, create joint projects\u2026 and it has met my expectations from the very first day. In fact, it has exceeded them. You\u2019re always learning new things and enjoying yourself, and it\u2019s even better when it\u2019s something you love doing anyway.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018THERE\u2019S A GREAT AMOSPHERE IN THE GROUP AND I FEEL REALLY AT HOME THERE. THERE\u2019S NO DISCRIMINATION BETWEEN THOSE WITH MORE OR LESS EXPERTISE\u2019<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Eva says that the atmosphere at CEU Photo is \u201creally friendly and welcoming. Everyone gets on well with each other and that\u2019s a big part of it being such an enriching experience. Being able to take part in projects together is both great fun and really revealing, as we all come together to think about a particular issue and it\u2019s really interesting how each person approaches it in a different way. That\u2019s one of the great things about it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Luna feels that she is learning a lot at CEU Photo<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Luna Rotelle<\/strong>, a second-year Audiovisual Communication undergraduate from Argentina, is also very satisfied with the CEU Photo experience: \u201cit gives me the chance to learn, enjoy myself and really feel part of university life in a very natural way. Almost every time I go, I learn something new and I come away with real enthusiasm to use what I\u2019ve learned in future projects. The best thing is that you learn from the contributions that everyone makes and not just from what the lecturer says.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a great atmosphere and I feel really at home there. There\u2019s no discrimination between those with more or less expertise. In fact, it\u2019s the opposite: everyone is willing to share what they know with others.\u201d<\/p>\n

So, how much you know or where you are from doesn\u2019t matter at CEU Photo<\/a>, just as it hasn\u2019t mattered for Luna and Eva.
\nFor Luna, photography is just a hobby for now and she doesn\u2019t know where it will take her.
\nFor Eva, who inherited her love of photography from her father, it\u2019s already a way of life. She\u2019s been doing photoshoots, bookings, and events, for four years now and she says \u201cthey have been the happiest years of my life. It\u2019s true what they say that if you have a job that you like and you won\u2019t ever have to \u201cwork\u201d a single day.\u201d<\/p>\n

Whatever the future may hold, both of them think that CEU Photo is helping them to grow both personally and creatively. And they\u2019ll keep on working on their personal projects and that of the whole CEU Photo group, which will be displayed in group exhibitions and might even be published.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
