I\u2019ve been living in Valencia, Spain for eight months now and can honestly say that moving here has been the best decision I\u2019ve ever made<\/strong>. Let me give you a few reasons why you should make VLC your new home as well.<\/p>\n

It’s always a good time biking to Playa Alboraya<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Weather<\/strong> seems to be a major factor for a lot of us when deciding where to move. Luckily Valencia\u2019s weather consists of more sunnier days than rainy days<\/strong> and only a few cold months beginning in December and ending in February. To be a bit more specific, the weather on an average day ranges from about 50-73\u00b0F (10-23\u00b0C), in the summer it ranges from 73-95\u00b0F (23-35\u00b0C) & winter ranges from 45-68\u00b0F (7-20\u00b0C).<\/p>\n

Valencia is the perfect size of a city<\/strong> located on the east coast of Spain and is the third largest city after Barcelona and Madrid. Valencia has a population of about 800,000 residents and is a very safe city to live in.<\/p>\n

City of Arts & Sciences never ceases to amaze me.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

This city has so much to offer! You can admire older architecture<\/strong> as you roam around the city\/old town as well as more modern designs known as the City of Arts & Sciences<\/strong><\/a> which was designed by the Valencian architect Santiago Calatrava. There are also a few lovely beaches<\/strong> to visit as well as the formerly known Turia River that is now a very green 9km space known as Turia Park.<\/strong> Spain of course is known for their delicious cuisine, Paella<\/strong> being one of the most popular and actually originating here in Valencia. The central market<\/strong> is another main staple where you can find a variety of fresh produce, meat, juices, and much more. Like I said, Valencia has a lot to offer<\/strong> those were just a few.<\/p>\n

Cheers! Or as the Spanish say “Salud!”<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

A main reason why I decided to look at universities in Spain is because of how inexpensive it is<\/a><\/strong>. Valencia is definitely one of the cheaper cities, making it perfect for students<\/strong> willing to study abroad. The average monthly budget for a student living in a shared flat, located in the city center is roughly \u20ac600-700; including electricity\/water, Wi-Fi\/phone, monthly metro card, groceries, and some spending money. For those of you wanting to live on your own, the budget is about \u20ac750-800 monthly. You also have the option of living in Moncada which is close to the University CEU Cardenal Herrera<\/strong><\/a>, meaning your budget can be cut down a bit. Keep in mind that Moncada is a small town and very different from the city.<\/p>\n

I personally prefer to live in the city near a metro station that has the Line 1 which takes you directly to CEU<\/strong><\/a> within 20-25 minutes. Jesus, Plaza de Espa\u00f1a, Angel Guimera, and Turia are a few nice options. Not to mention, the view from the metro on the way to university is my favorite part of the day.<\/p>\n

Overall Valencia is a small, inexpensive city filled with so much beauty & deliciousness. Therefore, making it an ideal selection for students<\/strong> wanting to study abroad. Hopefully I convinced you enough to join the CEU family and make your way over to Valencia, Spain!<\/p>\n
