The most popular classes of UCH CEU University Salsa has an author. We interviewed the teacher Enrique Cervera to get some tips on how to learn to dance Salsa:

\nInterviewer:<\/strong> How were you introduced into the world of Salsa?<\/em>
\nEnrique:<\/strong> Dancing has always been one of my greatest passions, and I was lucky, thanks to my brother who also is a dance teacher, I started learning my first steps from him. Little by little, I learnt various other dance styles and also from different teachers. Actually, I have been dancing for over 15 years, 12 of those as a teacher of Ballroom dancing and Latin Rhythms.
\nInterviewer:<\/strong> Why do you think there are more girls than boys interested in this activity? Is it difficult to learn?<\/em>
\nEnrique:<\/strong> Due to the stereotype. I believe they think dance is an activity for women and men who don\u00b4t know the world of dance don\u00b4t know that dance is for men and women equally. Actually this thinking is changing and when a man enters a ballroom, he realises that the dance world is different from what he thought and the feeling is different, and he starts to enjoy it.
\nUsually for boys to dance its more difficult than girls, because many men feel insecure, they have a lot of shame as they have never moved to the rhythm of music, but once they get past that barrier, it is much easier.
\nThe types of salsa that I teach in my classes are characterized by:
\nSalsa in a Line: this style comes from the United States. It is done in a line, without moving in a circular manner or curved. In this case, the distribution of the steps is very strong and dancers make elaborate poses with their arms. Overall, in the line dance, the girls often dominate due to their hand movements and figures performed.
\nCuban Salsa (or Casino) differs from the line dancing basically as the distribution of the steps is circular. It is a street and freestyle dance, which is more light-hearted than the line salsa steps and therefore, is said that this makes it easier to learn.
\nSalsa Los Angeles style even includes more choreographic elements and figures show, and it is especially popular in the world of professional dance.
\nInterviewer:<\/strong> Any “arrhythmic” person can learn to dance salsa?<\/em>
\nEnrique:<\/strong> Of course. Everyone can learn to dance salsa, arrhythmic people just need to have hope, desire and patience, and with practice you get everything.
\nInterviewer:<\/strong> In one phrase, how can you encourage the people to learn salsa?<\/em>
\nEnrique:<\/strong> Dancing makes you feel alive and once you try it you can\u00b4t stop dancing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
