The subject for this year is \u201c<strong>Architecture and landscape: Promenades and Sights<\/strong>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p>The iWeek is a seminar-type workshop on which a common project is presented for all our students of\u00a0<strong>Architectural Projects<\/strong>\u00a0from the second year onwards. During the seminar, students of different courses work together to develop projects, on which the Erasmus Program students also take part of.<\/p>\n<p>For this third edition, the iWeek aims to reflect on the relationship between\u00a0<strong>architecture<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>landscape<\/strong>. The objective will be to propose a design for a viewpoint in Cuenca.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to lectures, corrections, and workshops, conferences will also take place during the iWeek with international guests, like\u00a0<strong>Carmina Gheorghita<\/strong>, who was in charge of the first conference. She is an architecture teacher from the\u00a0Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Ia\u0219i (TUIA\u0218I)\u00a0in Romania.<\/p>\n<p>The topic presented by Carmina was\u00a0<strong>architecture<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>landscape<\/strong>. She started telling us a few about Ia\u0219i. A city with tons of historical buildings and churches filled with frescoes. Each of these churches are painted inside with images representing different Bible passages.<\/p>\n<p>Carmina tells us that, as in our University, students are not allowed to work with\u00a0<strong>Computer Assisted Design (CAD)<\/strong>\u00a0programs during the first years of the degree. Projects are done by hand and with a little help of computer programs such as Photoshop to improve the presentation. For Carmina \u201cis important that students learn and know how to express by hand\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>On the TUIA\u0218I, more complex projects are done as the degree advances.
